'Avengers: Infinity War' Part 1 Cast & Trailer: Russo Brothers Tease Character Details, 'Our Focus To Explore The Cosmic Side'

There is no doubt that fans are already excited for "Avengers: Infinity War" even if "Captain America: Civil War" is coming first. The Avengers will be divided in the "Civil War" but will they reconcile and unite in the "Infinity War?"
The Russo brothers, who helmed "Captain America: Civil War," will still take the wheel for the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War." The latter is inspired from the comics that unite Marvel's superheroes against the super villain Thanos.
Many are wondering if the "Guardians of the Galaxy" will appear in "Avengers: Infinity War." The Russo brothers gave strong hints about it in an exclusive interview with ComicBook during their New Orleans Wizard World appearance.
When asked about the involvement of "Guardian" in "Infinity War," Joe responded, "That is another one that we would have to reserve as a surprise, but we will say this: People will not be disappointed in the amount of characters in the movie. The concept of 'Infinity War' is that the Marvel universe unites to battle the greatest threat to the world and universe that you've ever seen, and we're going to honor that concept."
On the other hand, it seems that director James Gunn of "Guardians of the Galaxy" doesn't want a crossover for the Guardians and the Avengers. Parent Herald previously reported his remarks citing that they have their own galaxy to protect.
"We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avengers' province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it's going to happen," Gunn said.
ComicBookMovie has learned that the production is dealing with several characters. They have 67 characters on board, which seems too many for the Avengers. Does this mean that the "Guardians of the Galaxy" are on board for the "Infinity War?"
Well, we can't tell but if "Infinity War" unites all the Marvel superheroes then a crossover is possible. The Guardians and the Avengers both see Thanos as a threat. The super villain also popped up in the post-credit scenes of both movies. So, the connection should not be difficult to find.
Meanwhile, Joe revealed something about the film's storyline. "We're just going to approach the cosmic side with the same fervor that we did the earthbound work we've been doing," he said per Entertainment Weekly. He teased that they will deal with "psychological realism."
"Also, it's going to be our focus to explore the cosmic side, applying the same rules that we like to apply to the last two films that we've done," he added. "It ends up being the rules of physics always apply or apply as much as we can get them to apply based on what we're doing."
"Infinity War" Part 1 premieres on May 4, 2018, while Part 2 will follow on May 3, 2019.
