'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' DLC Update: Enhanced Edition NOT Happening, Confirms CD Projekt Red

For those who have been patiently awaiting for the launch of the Enhanced Edition of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," this latest development we just got is some sort of a real bummer.

As it turns out, the Enhanced Edition could not be happening after all. An article previously published by IGN talked about a couple of listings they found online regarding the release date of the title's Enhanced Edition.

And, now, the San Francisco-based gaming site just made an update wherein they let their readers know about the game developer CD Projekt Red reaching out to them to deny the veracity of the two online listings.

"@IGN There's no Enhanced Edition of 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' that we are aware of, this is some kind of error that we will look into," a CD Projekt Red exec responded to a Twitter post from IGN announcing that a listing for "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" Enhanced Edition has appeared on a French retailer's website.

IGN earlier wrote that an Enhanced Edition of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is reportedly on the way and fans of the video game can get their copies as soon as the following month based on a pair of online listings.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" Enhanced Edition will launch on February 5 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, according to the French retailer E.Leclerc, while another online retailer, SmartToys, has it listed for a February 5 release.

The "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," which was released last year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, was well-received by a lot of gamers and the video game also earned IGN's Best of 2015 Game of the Year award.

On a positive note, a new patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was just released today, Jan. 11, 2016. This was confirmed by CD Projekt Red, according to iDigital Times. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt patch 1.12 will be available on all platforms and will include fixes for a number of issues including those from the Hearts of Stone expansion, gameplay, UI, quests, and more.

"Word of the latest update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes courtesy of the CD Projekt Red forums, where a member of the Witcher 3 team announced the arrival of Patch 1.12 on Monday morning," says iDigital Times. "Quest fixes for the base game take up the largest share of the patch notes for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt patch 1.12."
