"Final Fantasy XV" fans will have to wait for more news on when the much-anticipated game will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but, in the meantime, developer Square Enix has treated gamers to some more details on the upcoming game.
According to Gamespot, "Final Fantasy XV" developers took to the Final Fantasy forums to answer some burning questions about the the game's difficulty, major cities and warp abilities.
"The equivalent to difficulty level settings in FFXV is a system where you can switch between different battle modes," lead game designer Takizawa Masashi explained, as per IGN. "By having this ability to switch modes, we want to make it so that both players who like action oriented, technical gameplay and also those who want to fight at a slower, more relaxed pace can all enjoy the combat in their own style. This switching system is a key part of the gameplay that we decided to introduce based on the feedback we received from the Episode Duscae demo."
As for the major cities that are yet to be explored by gamers, "Final Fantasy XV" planner Ishikawa Tomonori gave limited information on Altissia, saying that the city is somewhat large in scale and will feature cafes, ship-bourne market places, parks and the like. However, Tomonori promised that gamers would most likely enjoy an adventurous journey through the streets to see the sights and sounds of the city, which will feature unique characters as well.
Gamers can also access the warp points in buildings to experience the city with a view from the top. Lead-level designer Terada Takefumi explained that such warp abilities were designed to enable the player to instantly teleport to higher locations within the game, calling it a "vital part of FFXV's battle system."
"The ability to use multiple warp points in a strategic manner is especially prevalent in the game’s large scale battles over urban terrain," Takefumi explained. "It is not just the buildings though, and we have also created exciting aerial battles with flying foes and gigantic boss enemies, so watch out for those."
Last week, the Examiner reported that Noctis' character development is still an integral part of "Final Fantasy XV", as gamers will find him going through a personal journey throughout the narrative and as the game progresses. One of the first relationships apparent in the game would be the one of Noctis and his father, who gave him the car he uses as he goes on his journey in "FFXV."
Game director Hajime Tabata confirmed to the Examiner that love is still a central theme throughout the game, and told fans to expect a personal journey with Noctis and his crew in "Final Fantasy XV."
