One Direction is officially splitting up after Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson after months of announcing that the famous boy band will be in "hiatus," Us Weekly reports.
According to Stereogum, One Direction has been one of the most popular boy groups that in the past years. And even when they announced that they will be taking a break after releasing their album "Made In The A.M.," the boys have insisted that they will not disband and will just want to rest for a bit. Back in November, Horan even told Entertainment Tonight, We’re not breaking up. We're literally taking time out to see our friends and see our family, and reflect on what we've done over the last few years."
However, the tides seem to have changed as a source from Us Weekly reveals, "The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers.”
The insider further explained that One Direction will not be renewing their contract as a group after their tour in October, and is instead looking forward to taking their own path. One of their old members, Zayn Malik, has already exited One Direction beforehand in March 2015.
As for their solo careers, the boys are planning to take different paths. The source says that Payne would like to practice his creative skills in songwriting and production while Styles is looking forward to hitting the screen with his acting and singing, per another source.
Meanwhile, Tomlinson is preparing for fatherhood. Mail Online previously reported that the 24-year-old singer is expecting his child with 23-year-old Briana Jungwirth later this month and is making all effort to be with them during the "hiatus." Tomlinson is even prepared moved to Los Angeles to be closer to Jungwirth.
"Although they're not romantically involved, Louis thinks Briana is a great woman and will be a fabulous mother. Louis has been helping Briana financially and is prepared to get stuck in with all the tasks that caring for a baby demands," a friend of Tomlinson revealed to Mail Online.
Tomlinson has also been making some charity work during his hiatus. Capital FM recently reported that the singer has made a good did by helping a child with down syndrome who is terminally ill with cancer. The outlet reported that Louis has been supporting the child in December 2014.
