Carrie Underwood Weight Loss: Singer Drops 30 Pounds Through Vegan Diet, Tabata HIIT Workout
- comments
Carrie Underwood is one hot mama after she successfully shed the extra pounds she gained during her pregnancy. The "Good Girl" singer flaunted her impressive post-baby figure in the December 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan, where she shared about her life, in particular, her happy marriage with hockey star Mike Fisher.
"Everyone is getting divorced. They're dropping like flies! But we are good. It helped that we were both established before we were married," the country singer told Cosmopolitan of her marriage. "Neither one of us could be like, 'I didn't know it would be like this!'."
Aside from learning about Carrie's happy marriage, many want to know what the "Blown Away" singer did to have such slim frame after giving birth. In fact, with a quick glance, one will hardly believe that she already gave birth to a son last February 2015. Per Celebrity Health & Fitness, Carrie lost 30 pounds just two months after delivering her son Isaiah.
So what's her secret? According to Examiner, the "Don't Forget to Remember Me" singer follows a vegan diet and Tabata high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts.
The songstress revealed that she took Ephedra but felt that it was not the best way. She lost 50 pounds after grabbing the "American Idol" title in 2005 and insisted that she was not anorexic but was not eating enough calories because she doesn't know how much to consume.
Now, she credited her vegan diet and the Tabata HIIT for her fast 30-pound post-baby weight loss. "I gained only 30 pounds, which is the recommended amount, and I exercised throughout my pregnancy," Carrie said.
She explained that she had C-section and it took her six weeks before she returned to her workout routines. However, she started walking slowly on her treadmill 10 days after the delivery because she felt good whenever she's active.
"My favorite workout is Tabata, which I can do at home in about a half hour. I'm in love with it! It's hard, but it really works," the "Jesus Takes The Wheel" singer said of her workout routine. "I choose seven different exercises, like squats, lunges, or push- ups, and do eight rounds of each-20 seconds on, 20 seconds off for eight rounds. It really revs up my metabolism."
Carrie is vegan but she is a fan of bread. Her daily meal plan is usually oatmeal for breakfast, a sandwich on Ezekiel bread for lunch and protein and vegetables for dinner. She stressed that with this meal plan she was able to maintain her flat belly.
