"Red Dead Redemption 2" is confirmed and it will be introducing two new characters.
Express reported that, last year, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, confirmed that "GTA" and "Red Dead Redemption" are permanent.
"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others," he said.
The question is when will the title be available?
A former developer of Rockstar revealed that "Red Dead Redemption" has been in development for four years now and that it will be released in October, Cross Map has learned.
VineReport stated that the anticipated title would be announced and released soon. The word "soon" is subjective; it might take months or years. However, there are rumors that it implies less than a year. In fact, some are hoping that "Red Dead Redemption" will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which is scheduled in June.
If that is true, then the title will be available by October.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" has been around the rumor mills for sometimes now. Parent Herald reported that two former Rockstar employees spill the details about the game.
Danny Ross, who previously worked on "Opie & Anthony," was also an ex-Rockstar employee. On a radio show, many listeners asked him about his work and one asked him what gamers could expect from Rockstar Games.
"Hey Danny, long time/first time...fuck this O&A nonsense and lets get to some real news. WTF does Rockstar have on deck?," the fan asked. "Really? Dumbass. Really? Two," Ross responded.
Listeners were quick to conclude that Ross meant "Read Dead Redemption 2" based on the first letters of the words he said.
Aside from Ross, AnonDN1978, a Reddit user claimed to be a former Rockstar developer made big revelations. He disclosed that the upcoming title would be called "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." Also, it was divulged that it will be a prequel of the first game and will be coming to current-gen consoles with a PC release to follow a month after the console release.
He also added that two main characters will be introduced in "Red Dead Redemption 2," Irish and Seth. The former is brought up in Ireland who moved in America when he is 15 while the latter is from Kansas City, who works as a bank teller.
