New rumors are suggesting that the anticipated book "The Winds of Winter" will be pushed to 2017.
There have been nonstop talks about the sixth book of the popular novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire." Unfortunately, despite the commotion fans have been showing to get their hands on "The Winds of Winter," George RR Martin is not writing his book in any way faster and new reports are suggesting that the long overdue book might be delayed.
The Washington Post predicted that "The Winds of Winter" would come out some time in 2017 while the next book "A Dream of Spring" will hit the bookshelves in 2023, just in time for the celebrity author's 75th birthday.
Many are complaining about how slow a writer the New Mexican author is. However, per the report, although J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" and Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" have huge gaps between the release of each book, Martin's books have a huge word count.
Martin's "A Game of Thrones" had 864 pages in the paperback edition, which is longer that the first four books of C.S. Lewis "The Chronicles of Narnia" combined. However, he writes in the same phase with Rowling.
Rowling finished the "Harry Potter" series in about nine years. In about the same time, Martin only wrote four books but the overall page count is the same.
Earlier this year, to the dismay of fans who are expecting the release date of "The Winds of Winter," Martin announced that the book is still not finished. In his Live Journal, he wrote, "THE WINDS OF WINTER is not finished."
The 67-year old writer stressed that many were disappointed with the delay, including his editors, publishers, agents, foreign publishers, translators and the HBO. He added that he has been longing to say, "I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER" before 2015 ends but, unfortunately, the book's not done.
Latinos Health reported that the editor of "The Winds of Winter" is confident that the book will be available this year. Alejo Cuervo, an editor from Ediciones Gigamesh, revealed in an interview last year that the book will be available in 2016.
The host asked Cuervo when the sixth book will be available and his response, "It is expected next year." The host even clarified his announcement and he expressed his confidence in it. "Well, let's see, confident...but a meteor could fall."
