Subscribers from both the Sony PlayStation Plus and Microsoft Xbox Live Gold members alike are getting more value for their money this coming February. Both the tech and gaming companies have already released their lineup of free games for their members to enjoy without shelling out extra bucks for each title.
"For the month of February, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games - two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 - as part of the Games with Gold program. You can play both Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One with Backward Compatibility," says Major Nelson.
For the Xbox One owners, they can get their hand on "Hand of Fate" and "Styx: Master of Shadows" for the upcoming month. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 owners will have free access to "Sacred Citadel" and "Gears of War 2."
And as Major Nelson noted, the two games available for download in Xbox 360 can also be played by Xbox One gamers because of backwards compatibility. It is good to note that games available for the month of January are still up for grabs until the following week.
On the other hand, the gamers from the other side of the fence are also in for a treat. "This February you can protect Super Earth in an intergalactic war while feeding soup to aliens! Presenting your free PS Plus games for February on PS4," wrote Sony on the PlayStation blog.
Some of the games included are "Helldivers," which offers "chaotic combat against three invading enemy species. This top-down shooter focuses heavily on teamwork, as squads battle to become Heroes of the Federation," and "Nom Nom Galaxy" wherein gamers can play the character of a new Astroworker for SoupCo and build the most powerful soup company in the galaxy.
The two video games are available for PS4, but PS3 and PS Vita owners are also having some free games of their own. Here is the complete lineup of games this February for both the Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus members courtesy of GameSpot.
