Kate Middleton is doing her first TV interview in six years. The last time the Duchess of Cambridge sat in front of the camera was before she married Prince William in 2011, E! Online reported.
The royal mom of two will be joining the rest of the members of the royal family for the interview. It will be part of a program about Queen Elizabeth II, which will air on television via ITV in the U.K. in May.
The show was made to honor Her Majesty on her 90th birthday and, as traditions have it, the celebrations will start in April and culminate in June. The queen was born on April 21, 1926 but her sovereign birthday is in June, per The British Monarchy official site.
New York Daily News reported that Kate, along with her husband, Prince William, will be discussing the life and reign of the queen.
Daily Mail reported that the program is tentatively called "The Queen at Ninety" and, apart from the young royal couple, Prince Charles, his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles and some political figures are also going to be featured in the presentation.
People reported that the extravaganza will also feature 900 horses and 1,500 actors, bands and dancers. It will be staged at the Windsor Castle, with Queen Elizabeth as special guest of honor on the final night.
"It's a remarkable story of an extraordinary life which in so many ways reflects the changing face of the nation," said ITV's Jo Clinton-Davis. "As she reaches her 90th birthday, this film aims to offer a fresh insight into our monarch's life and work."
The TV crew has been shooting parts of the show since last year because they have been granted access to follow the Queen Elizabeth and other members of the monarch. "We've been fortunate to have the participation of so many members of the royal family to mark this historic milestone in the life of the Queen," said the show's executive producer, Nick Kent.
Meanwhile, back when the duchess was newly-engaged to Prince William, they couple sat down with broadcaster Tom Brady to talk about their life ahead. Daily Mail noted that the prince did most of the talking during that interview but, since then, Kate has had more experience in taking to various people.
Over the years, Kate has also built a good relationship with her husband's grandmother, who has been giving the duchess various royal duties. Only recently, Queen Elizabeth have accorded Kate the important job of becoming a patron for the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, which the queen handled for 64 years, Hello reported.
