Dukan Diet Plan: Is This Kate Middleton Pre-Royal Wedding Weight Loss Secret?
- comments
Princess Kate Middleton used the Dukan Diet to get slimmer in time for her wedding five years ago in 2011, New York Daily News reports. However, French doctor and founder of the program Pierre Dukan thinks that Kate "lost too much weight."
The Dukan Diet Program was also used by Kate's mother Carole and younger sister Pippa. He added that the program's high-protein, low-carb diet plan is appealing to everyone because it promises efficient results.
"My diet is efficient," Dukan, who published "The Dukan Diet Made Easy" in May, told the outlet. "Nobody says it's not one of the best for efficiency. It's very quick, which encourages people, and it's simple."
The Dukan Diet is defined as redesigning one's eating habits in order to stabilize the weight. Additionally, how much weight you lose apparently depends on how well you follow instructions. Calculating the True Weight will help in determining the realistic weight that dieters can achieve and maintain.
"The Dukan Diet is a high protein, low fat, low carb diet—a healthy eating plan based on proteins and vegetables, 100 foods in total. And what's best, it's "EAT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE," according to their official website.
So how does the Dukan Diet work? There are four phases in the program. The first one is the Attack phase which helps jumpstart the diet. It is recommended to eat high-protein foods during this stage.
The second one is the Cruise phase where you get to eat any of the 32 recommended vegetables. It is recommended to alternate eating pure protein and protein and vegetable days to shed some pounds.
The Consolidation phase is the third step and it claims to stop the body regain the weight lost during the previous phases. This phase has a stricter timeline and allows indulging forbidden foods little by little in order to prevent binge eating.
The last one is the Stabilization phase where you are free to adopt your own eating schedule. There are three non-negotiable rules which include: 3 tablespoons of Oat Bran daily, 20 minutes of walking every day, and pure protein Thursday every week.
According to the US & World News Report, the Dukan Diet ranks #27 in "Best Fast Weight-Loss Diets" out of 38 programs. As to how effective the program is, no clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate it.
