'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers: Major Character Deaths, Darker Tone, Time Jump & More! - What You Need to Know [Rumors]

"The Walking Dead" is going to reveal explosive answers on its return Feb. 14. The show will have a time jump, a darker tone and a possible major character death in the first few episodes of the second half of Season 6.
Lead star Andrew Lincoln confirmed some of the details in his latest interview with Entertainment Weekly. "What I will say is that the pace quickens a lot in the back eight. It jumps up a gear, maybe two gears, and we move very, very quickly," the actor revealed.
He also confirmed that many of the questions fans have about the cliffhanger during the winter break will be answered rather quickly. "There is a time jump, I will say, at some point. And you will see why we stay in Alexandria."
Uproxx reported that comic book readers of the series will get why this time jump has to happen and the progression of the story will eventually push Rick Grimes (Lincoln) to become a "different" leader. The actor also stated that his character's change is going to be "darker," thus affecting the way "The Walking Dead" will develop in its remaining eight episodes of the Season 6.
"It's one of those watershed moments that happens. And as a result he learns something vital about being a leader," said the actor.
Fans of the series shouldn't worry about all the tension though as there will still be comedic episodes to look forward to despite the gloom and doom that's expected to happen. "Intentionally comedic," said showrunner Scott M. Gimple during a live Q&A event in New York, Tech Insider reported. "So there is comedy, there's actually some sweetness, and then it's interspersed with this incredibly dark stuff."
Rumors about a major character death has hounded the series during the winter break. Also, with the teasers airing during the hiatus, fans note that the carnage that happened in Alexandria in the comic books is finally happening in the TV show.
Hollywood Take reported that Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) will die in this carnage, while Carl (Chandler Riggs) will experience, but survive a gruesome scene. It looks like he's going to lose his eye in an upcoming episode. In fact, there have been promos hinting of this in the Russian teasers for the series, per Comic Book Movie.
"There are wheels turning and I'm hoping that all you guys will be surprised when it builds to its conclusion," Gimple told fans.
