Singer and actress Ashlee Simpson has been focusing on motherhood lately, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have time to hit the gym. In fact, People reports that the 31-year-old has lost 40 pounds of baby weight just give months after giving birth to her second child, a daughter named Jagger Snow back in July 2015. Simpson credits her trainer, Ramona Braganza, for her weight loss that involved both diet and exercise.
Braganza, who also works with A-listers Jessica Alba, Halle Berry, and Anne Hathaway, is the creator of the 3-2-1 workout, which according to Self involves three cardio elements, two circuit elements, and one core elements, which she believes are vital in losing weight, building strong, lean muscles, and strengthening the core.
Braganza also highlights the importance of having three meals, two snacks (to prevent blood sugar from dropping), and one liter of water daily.
The 3-2-1 Baby Bulge Be Gone program is the same weight loss program Simpson has undergone, and she has lost 40 pounds of baby weight mere months after she gave birth to her second child. The 31-year old is also mom to seven-year-old Bronx Mowgli with former husband, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz.
"Seven years ago, after the birth of her son Bronx, Ashlee lost 25 lbs. in two and half months. This time around, at 30, with slightly more weight to lose, what helped her drop a consistent two pounds a week was exercising five days a week and burning 800 or more calories per workout session," Braganza explained. "While it’s often tougher to lose the baby weight the second time around, it is possible!"
Of course, the weight loss journey wouldn't be complete without the support of Simpson's husband and baby daddy, actor Evan Ross. Daily Mail reports that according to Braganza, Ross provided the support and motivation to keep his wife going.
"Having a hands on daddy like Evan proved to be a big motivation. Taking turns watching his daughter as his wife worked out, prepping some post-workout snacks and performing nighttime daddy duty proved to be a big part in Ashlee’s weight loss success," Braganza shared, adding that Ross even participated in the workouts.
"It was a chance for him to step up with his workouts. We trained either before or after Ashlee’s sessions, following my 3-2-1 Training Method. He leaned out and bulked up for his shirtless scenes on 'Wicked City,'" Braganza said.
Ross, who is the son of renowned singer Diana Ross, played Diver Hawkes in the ABC series "Wicked City" and has also appeared in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & 2" as Messalla.
