Huawei Honor Magic with AI features is now official; Phone sports curvy body, AMOLED screen

Huawei Honor or simply Honor, a sub-brand of the Chinese manufacturer Huawei announced the Honor Magic at a press event on Thursday.

Honor Magic is nothing short of magic as the smartphone has a built-in artificial intelligence assistant that will predict your needs before you do. "The Honor Magic marks the culmination of Honor's extended R&D efforts in bringing the best of technology to its customers," Huawei said in a statement. "The Honor Magic breaks new ground by incorporat[ing] artificial intelligence designed to understand and analyze users' data in order to provide intelligent interactive features."

At a first glance, nothing would look magical in this phone which is curved on all the eight sides, but a closer look at its unique features will make up for its name 'Honor Magic'. The smartphone has a number of new and different features that will make it stand out in the crowd.

With a new feature called FaceCode Intelligent Recognition, only the pre-registered faces will be able to view the message notifications on the phone, reports AndroidAuthority. This will protect the owner of the phone from nosy neighbors who won't get to know who's pinging and why.

Honor Magic's true magic lies in 'Honor Magic Live', which is a proprietary operating system that will offer AI-driven features. Below are the examples of how the new AI technology will work with Honor Magic:

• Honor Magic will be able to recommend the latest blockbusters based on your latest chats.
• When the owner of the smartphone is on the road, Honor Magic will automatically recognize that he/she is driving and will prompt a reminder to switch the device to driving mode
• DeepThink - When the home button is long pressed, Honor Magic will offer information based on the current webpage being browsed on the smartphone
• When Honor Magic is used to order a cab, the driver's license plate information will be shown on the display under locked screen mode
• When a person approached a parcel collection counter, Honor Magic will automatically display the tracking number
• When entering a dark room at night, Honor Magic's auto lock screen will launch the flashlight feature

As of now the pricing for Honor Magic is not known and it will only be sold in Huawei's home county i.e. China. It will be available from several retailers, including Vmall.com, JD, Tmall and Suning starting December 16.
