Warner Bros. 2011 release of "Green Lantern" received plenty criticism. Carrying a new cinematic franchise from DC titled DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. announced that it will put the Emerald Warriors back on the big screen in 2020 with "Green Lantern Corps". Ryan Reynolds, being the star of the previous "Green Lantern" movie, had something to say about why the movie performed so bad at the box-office.

Itechreports states that in an interview, Ryan Reynolds explains the one of the reasons why the movie flopped while his other comic book project 'Deadpool' was well received.

"Well it's simple: Deadpool always knew what it was, with Green Lantern, I don't think anyone ever figured out exactly what it was. That isn't to say the hundreds of men and women didn't work their fingers to the bone to make it as good as possible. It also fell victim to the process in Hollywood which is like poster first, release date second, script last. At the time, it was a huge opportunity for me so I was excited to try and take part in it."

The commercially and critically failure of the 2011 release not only stalled the DC Cinematic Universe Warner Bros planned, but also hit Ryan Reynolds career hard according denofgeek. Ryan Reynolds also slightly mentioned the poor script that the movie had during the interview. With the script being the least important part of the movie than the poster.

There's no news about the cast, director and other development about the project yet. Movienewsguide reported that Armie Hammer, the actor who played 'The Lone Ranger', was rumoured to play Hal Jordan, one of the main character in 'Green Lantern'. But it was quickly debunked when he trolled the DC fans at twitter.
