- comments
BLU is an American manufacturer of smartphones which emphasizes on producing quality smartphones on a lower budget. However, the phones are not sold worldwide and mostly limited to its home country. BLU launched its Vivo XL smartphone in Jan 2016 and its successor has now passed FCC certification.
Reports from GSMArena suggest that the smartphone has recently made a visit to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and has passed certification so the launch is imminent. BLU Vivo XL2 is the successor to XL1 and several changes have been incorporated in the new smartphone. The design factor remains almost the same as previous generation with the exception of camera and LED flash placement. The FCC filing does not reveal much information about the handset other than the images of the handset and it runs on Android OS.
There are reports of the speculated specifications of the handset as reported by AndroidAuthority. The phone is tipped to include a 5.5 inch AMOLED screen, a Mediatek chipset, a 3150 Mah battery and a micro SD card slot. The back camera may get a bump in resolution this time and it will support Full HD video recording.
Expect a 1080p display this time in the smartphone as opposed to a 720p display in the previous iteration. A fingerprint sensor is also not seen on the device this time as apparent from the leaked images. The device seemingly has a glossy back panel and front side is covered with dedicated touch capacitive buttons. The smartphone is also expected to retain USB Type-C port from its predecessor. The speaker is placed on the back just as the previous Vivo XL which will muffle the sound it placed facing a surface.
There is currently no information on the specifications and features of the device but it will be launched in CES 2017 as a budget phablet. However the availability and price of this phone is still not known.
