'Halo Wars: Definitive Edition' Will Be Available For Purchase in 2017

Microsoft has sent out codes for an "Xbox Game Preview" version of the "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" - original Halo Wars remastered, to everyone who pre-ordered "Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition" last week. It can be purchased separately as a standalone game in 2017.

Warpzoned reported that the remaster will continue to be updated and enhanced ahead of its final release, but the game developer have not yet released any update on whether the game would be available to PC and Xbox One owners who were not interested in the sequel until now.

The information was gotten from the Xbox Support page for Halo Wars 2 -uncovered by Warp Zoned.

"When you pre-order Halo Wars 2, you will receive a code for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition when the game is made available early on December 20, 2016. The game will not be available to purchase separately until later in 2017."

 There were several challenges that came with the launch of Halo Wars Definitive Edition earlier this month such as, gamers who pre-ordered the game prior to the advertised date of December 20th and did not receive a code for the game. 

The gamers had problems redeeming the codes for Halo Wars Definitive Edition, although Microsoft said the codes could take 7 to 10 days according to reports.

It was also discovered that the game is not quite a finished product at this point either.  Several other issues came up during the early access of the game on both the PC and Xbox One.

However, Microsoft has noted that it still putting the finishing touches on the game before launch, so gamers should expect to see more improvements online between now and February.  For gamers who have not received the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition code, they are apparently still rolling out over the coming weeks, according to Attack of the Fanboy.

Halo Wars 2 will have another beta after it release. Although, there is still no update with regards to the pricing of the standalone game, it will be available PC and Xbox One on February 21st, 2017. This means players still have time to pre-order so as to receive early access to Halo Wars: Definitive Edition.
