South Korea tech biggie,LG seems to have taken the competition a bit too seriously. Well, that's what it appears from the recent announcement it has made. Ahead of the CES 2017, LG too is teasing its consumers about the latest product and services it is likely to launch this year.
According to Phone Arena, LG plans on launching several robots on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the CES event to be held in Las Vegas. One of the primary competitors to the rival Google Home and Amazon Echo would be the "Hub Robot".
Both Amazon Echo and Google Home are landmark voice activated robots that have created a big buzz in the tech world. Interestingly, both these robots help control, electronic gadgets including entertainment systems, thermostat, lighting and more.
Like LG, the competitors too, aren't far behind as they are planning to unveil robots that might tend to the owner's garden and yard. According to Yahoo News, the latest Hub Robot from LG will be a reply to the Amazon Echo as it is likely to perform all activities as this robot does.
As per LG, the latest flagship robot would be like a "smart home gateway and a personal assistant for consumers." At present the company hasn't disclosed any more details about the product or its features. According to the company, these robots are likely to improve the overall experience of travelers in airports and hotels.
According to Yahoo News, LG has already had its personal assistant. Earlier in 2012, it had tested the Quick Voice in Korea. It was similar to Google and Samsung's voice process Siri. However, LG later went ahead and changed it to Q Voice and further to Voice Mate.
Interestingly, it is believed the company might be using this process to take on its rivals, Amazon Echo and Google Home. It is now just a matter of time to see how LG takes on its competitors. For that the consumers need to stay hooked into the CES 2017 event.
