DB Cooper is one of the famous names that definitely gave the FBI agents sleepless nights. According to FBI history, it was one of the longest as well as the most exhaustive case. Interestingly, it still remains one of the biggest unsolved hijacking mysteries in the history of the United States.
According to Washington Post, in 1971 a very well dressed passenger had hijacked a Northwest Orient flight and demanded a ransom of $200,000. Interestingly, that was not all. The hijacker had managed to escape from the flight with the ransom money by parachuting from the back of the flight.
Wondering who was this mysterious, smart mind, DB Cooper? Well, there are several people, including the FBI who had tried hard to find out who he was. The man not only managed to escape from a flight, but also managed to hide from the FBI.
Right after his disappearance, the FBI had been in the case for over 45 years. However, some latest reports suggest that several young scientists might have been able to trace Cooper. As per Yahoo News, three amateur scientists claim to have found traces that would narrow down the search of this notorious hijacker, Cooper. According to the scientists, they have traced his origin to be that of an aerospace engineer or manager.
The scientists, who are working for an organization called, the Citizen Sleuths said they have analyzed the proof they have found in a clip- on necktie. As per them, they have managed to gather evidence based on the necktie that Cooper left on the plane's seat.
A report on the Citizen Sleuths website mentioned, "A tie is one of the only articles of clothing that isn't washed on a regular basis." It further added, "it picks up dirt and grime just like any other piece of clothing, but that accumulation never truly gets 'reset' in the washing machine. Each of those particles comes from something and somewhere and can tell a story if the proper instruments like electron microscopes are used."
