‘La La Land’ Will Land In China With Tencent: The Chinese Internet Conglomerate Will Promote The Film

The Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent has recently made a deal with the Lionsgate. The internet conglomerate's film company Tencent Pictures is serving as the marketing partner for the movie "La La Land." The movie will be released on Feb. 14, 2017.
The Tencent Pictures is ready to work as the strategic marketing partner for Lionsgate's upcoming movie "La La Land" in the mainland China. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film regulators of China have already given the permission for the local release of the movie. A "flat-fee" term is set for the movie.
Here the term "flat-fee" indicates that the Lionsgate has sold "the distribution rights for a set sum". That means Lionsgate will not be allowed to have a share in the Chinese revenue. The distribution of the film will be handled by the China Film Co.
Baian Film and Joy Pictures will look after the marketing process of the film. Headquarter of the Tencent is situated in the Nanshan District, Shenzhen. This internet conglomerate provides the internet, entertainment and also works on the online-ad-services for a major portion of the Chinese people.
Tencent is considered as one of the biggest internet providers in the world. Apart from this, the company also owns messaging services and social media services of China, like QQ and WeChat. This company also gains popularity with the music, video and media platforms.
Last year Tencent completed a deal with another Legendary Entertainment, another US company. The deal was made to release the movie "Warcraft." The film acquired a huge popularity and became the second-biggest US film of the year in China.
The trailers of the film "La La Land" are already available. The director of the movie is Damien Chazelle. The director and the lead male actor together will be headed to China in the current month for the promotion of the film. The movie lovers have to wait some time more to enjoy the film.
