"One Piece" anime fans are off to an exciting manga binge reading as Anime magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, has just revealed that a spinoff focused on one of the most popular characters in the "One Piece" world is currently in the works. The new spinoff will be focused on Portgas D Ace, one of the most loved characters in the Anime outside of the straw-hat crew. The Weekly Shonen Jump has been focused with the lover-boy chef of the straw-hat crew, Sanji, in its recent releases. According to Crunchyroll, the Anime Magazine is officially biding goodbye to the year of Sanji and is now preparing for the 20th anniversary of "One Piece". In its recent issue, Weekly Shonen Jump made the announcement that there is a plan to make an Ace focused magazine. This announcement has created quite a hysteria to "One Piece" fans as the last time that they got to actually see Ace was during his untimely death.

Though no details have emerged as to how the Magazine will approach the Ace focused spinoff for "One Piece", fans believe that the center of the spinoff may center on Ace's past life. Fans of the anime already know how colorful Ace's life is given that he has links with almost all of the major characters in the "One Piece" world.
Ace is the son of the Pirate King Gol D Roger and is the "brother" of the supposed successor to the Pirate King throne and main character of the anime, Monkey D Luffy. Ace has also served under the helm of Whitebeard and has been raised by Marine Hero Monkey D Garp. The only character that can beat Ace's connection to the various "One Piece" character is Luffy.
Exploring Ace's colorful past would provide a great story for the magazine. Also, delving more in the past life of Ace may provide a great back bone for the entire "One Piece" storyline.
