Business organizations have been using conference calls for a really long time. But conference calls have even helped women lose weight and has given great results. Kimberley Hopkins, a Lincoln based therapist has been using conference calls to help women with obesity issues.
According to the Hippocratic Post, Hopkins has been supporting around 100 women each week. Interestingly, she doesn't meet any of these women in need of help, but organizes a small group call conference with a pin number. Over the two years, Hopkins has been trying to help obese women through conference call therapy and mentoring. As per Hopkins, many women have been successful in using the therapy to maintain and achieve great weight loss.
Each session that takes place at a convenient time during the evenings and days on weekends lasts for about an hour. The best thing about these sessions is that it includes a small group of women such as ten women at a time. This helps Hopkins concentrate on each woman's problem and offer the best guidance and solutions. As per Hopkins her aim is to understand why these women overeat, what they could do to either change the behavior or stop it.
As per Daily Mail Online, these group sessions are extremely helpful for obese women. This is because it includes a group of people with similar issues that helps them open up to their problem with others. There is no doubt that a large portion of the society is against obese women and show hostility towards them. In fact, a gentle peer pressure often helps overweight people maintain the commitment towards their health as well as reach goals. These group sessions also help people gather learning points by listening to others.
Hopkins welcomes women who are desperate to lose weight and there are separate programs for different people depending on their need. Most women prefer the sessions since they don't need to turn up for the sessions. Each week, Hopkins focuses on a particular topic on the LighterLife 2U programme. So far, numerous women have been able to successfully implement the guidance and lose weight. Hopkins mentioned, "The conference call has made a huge difference to the number of people I can reach and bring together and it is likely to become a mainstay in many people's dieting journey in the future."
