"FIFA" game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has just confirmed that its upcoming "FIFA 18" will be released for the Nintendo Switch. The collaboration between EA and Nintendo to launch a "FIFA" title for the new Nintendo hybrid video game console was initially announced during the Nintendo Switch event.
The collaboration between EA and Nintendo for "FIFA" Nintendo Switch version will mark the first since the game publisher decided to step away from the Nintendo Wii U. The "FIFA" project is also the first confirmed EA title heading to Switch.
Speaking with Gamereactor, Peter Moore, the Chief Competition Officer EA, confirmed that the video game that the company will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch is its upcoming "FIFA 18." It can be remembered that during the Nintendo Switch event, EA only announced that a custom built "FIFA" will be launched for the Switch.
In an interview conducted at a recent "FIFA" event in Paris, France, Moore said that the game that they are custom-building for the Nintendo Switch is "FIFA 18." The CCO also voiced out his excitement to see the new hybrid game console that is set to be released for shipping on Mar. 3.
When asked if the "FIFA 18" Nintendo Switch version will be a slimmed down version of the PS4 and Xbox One version, Moore simply repeated the statement that what they will release is a custom built version. He also said that the "FIFA" development team in Vancouver is the one tasked to develop the "FIFA 18" for Nintendo Switch.
Moore was also asked if EA has plans to release "Mass Effect: Andromeda" Nintendo Switch version. The EA CCO reiterated that the only confirmed title from their company that will be heading to the Nintendo hybrid console, for now, is "FIFA 18."
No "FIFA 18" Nintendo Switch version release date has been mentioned. However, it may be released in September since it is within this month that EA commonly releases its new "FIFA" titles.
