‘Naruto Shippuden’ Episode 494 Recap: Konoha Prepares for Naruto and Hinata Wedding; Episode 495 Teases Special Mission

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 494 highlights how the Naruto's closest friends are preparing for the Naruto and Hinata's wedding. Iruka, Naruto's first academy teacher, ponders about the perfect gift he can give the couple. In episode 495, current Konoha Hokage, Kakashi Hatake, issues a special mission to Konoha's shinobis.

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 494 opens with Konohamaru, armed with a video recorder, going around the village to ask the people who knew Naruto and Hinata the best to record a special message for Naruto and Hinata. Iruka is conflicted since he doesn't have any idea on what he would say or what the perfect gift is for the couple.

Iruka wanted to make his message and his gift to be a symbol of his relationship with Naruto. He decides that the best way to honor the couple is to take the advancement exam that would make Iruka the Vice Principal at the academy.

Iruka always sets Naruto as an example to inspire his pupils much to the dismay of some students, including Tsukune. By setting the from-zero-to-hero Naruto, he unknowingly alienates his pupils.

According to Auto World News, Kakashi is facing a difficult task in deciding which shinobis can attend Naruto and Hinata's wedding. Most of Naruto's friends have become important Jonins and he can't pull everyone back from their active duties.

At the Ichiraku Ramen, Kakashi learned that Iruka wants to advancement exam and state that "it would be difficult" for Iruka. Mistaking that Kakashi meant Iruka is not ready to be Vice-Principal, Iruka's mood shifted. Undeterred, Iruka redoubled his efforts to pass the advancement exam, teaching his class with renewed vigor and always making Naruto as their inspiration.

Tsukune learned that Naruto stole a secret scroll when he was still at school and immediately made it his mission to steal the scroll to surpass the town hero. Upon hearing that the scroll was missing, Iruka went to straighten out things, recovered the scroll, and apologized to his student.

After recovering the scroll, Kakashi explained to Iruka what he meant by saying "it would be difficult." The Hokage said he only meant that it would be difficult to take the exam since it is scheduled the same day as the wedding. Naruto is bound to expect that Iruka is going to be there since Iruka is one of the people Naruto holds dear.

Kakashi tasks every shinobi to bring a gift for Naruto and Hinata's wedding. They will then sort and rank which gifts are best suited for Naruto and Hinata's wedding. In connection with this, it will also determine which shinobis can attend the wedding, thus solving Kakashi's first problem.
