Kid Rock, who is known as a Grammy nominee, actor, record producer, and a wild rock star is being aimed as a potential senator. Named as Robert Ritchie in real life, the "Let's Ride" rocker has been proposed as a probable Republican candidate in 2018 for or Michigan Democrat Debbie Stabenow's Senate seat.
According to RollCall, a surprising name was recommended at the Michigan Republican Party convention recently, however, no official decisions were yet made. If selected as a senatorial candidate, Kid Rock will compete against Debbie Stabenow who stands with the Democrat.
Kid Rock is a five-time Grammy nominee for his music who has been vocal about his support for president Trump. He has even appeared during his presidential campaign and rallies and has even sold pro-Trump merchandise. According to Yahoo!, the "All Summer Long" singer has expanded his merchandise in December after the election and one of his famous shirts include the phrase "God Guns & Trump." Another eye-catching design that he has is a map that features America that is divided by red (Republican) and blue (Democratic) colors. The color-coded shirt represents "United States of America" (red) and "Dumbf-kistan" (blue).

The political views of Rock - or Ritchie - has always pointed towards the libertarian, however, he has openly supported many Republican candidates.
"I am definitely a Republican on fiscal issues and the military, but I lean to the middle on social issues. I am no fan of abortion, but it's not up to a man to tell a woman what to do. As an ordained minister I don't look forward to marrying gay people, but I'm not opposed to it," Kid Rock said in The Guardian.

U.S. citizens have mixed emotions toward his potential campaign. With Stabenow having the position since 2000, it's almost unclear to know about his victory. However, the confidence of Republicans have notably increased after Trump's winning in 2016, so this might bring changes as well.
