There are times when a person already has plenty of sleep, and yet, he feels tired. Although a busy lifestyle is an easy suspect to blame, it is still more important to know the root causes of such fatigue. Some of which maybe not eating properly, anemia, or even something severe as diabetes.
Primarily, a fatigue is caused by lack of sleep. This may be due to a condition called insomnia where the body, although tired, is not able to sleep. Aside from the lack of sleep, Web MD says that eating too little also causes fatigue. This can either be because of not eating enough or not eating the right foods.
Some people who experience fatigue are diagnosed with anemia. Anemia is a condition wherein the body is not supplied with the right amount of red blood cells -- the cells that carry oxygen from the heart going to the tissues and organs.
Meanwhile, fatigue can also be caused by a more severe condition such as thyroid problems. When the thyroid gland is not functioning properly, the person may feel sluggish as it controls metabolism -- the state where the body converts food into energy.
According to Health & Mind Care, fatigue may also happen due to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or the severe type of tiredness that usually lasts for six months. This is associated with symptoms like muscle pain, sore throat, and headaches.
Other causes may include sleep apnea where the person's breathing is repeatedly interrupted. This often results in bad snoring and decrease in the oxygen level of the blood. It can also be caused by UTI, diabetes, heart disease, and food intolerance.
Meanwhile, mental conditions such as depression and a simple stress also cause fatigue. These two things disrupt sleeping or cause a person to wake up too early, therefore, making her feel drained the entire day.
