Baby Girl With Rare Hydrocephalus Problem On Verge of Survivability

Life becomes crucial for a baby girl who is suffering from a rare health problem that has caused the abnormal size of her head. She is suffering from hydrocephalus.
Mail online reported that Jaya Dalvi, a baby girl of four months, is a victim of a rare disease hydrocephalus. She was born with a build-up fluid inside the skull. Currently, the size of her head is 71cm, where the normal size should be around 38cm.
This health problem needs an early surgery to save the life of the victim. But, unfortunately, poverty has crumbled this poor family living in a rural village in Gujarat, India. The father of this baby girl is a farmer with an earning of two pounds every day.
Bhavesh Dalvi, father of the baby girl, and his wife Jaywanti are not capable enough to provide her daughter special care in a private hospital. The couple now depends on a state-run medical center. Dr. Manoj Patel, the doctor who looks after the four months baby, opines that prompt treatment can only save her.
Doctors implant a shunt in the brain of a hydrocephalus patient to release the excess fluid. Now, this thin tube drains the excess fluid from the brain properly to another part of the body where it can easily be reabsorbed. Dr. Manoj Patel explains that they don't have that resource to perform this operation to recover the baby girl.
Actually, pediatric neurosurgeons can perform this operation and only a good private hospital can provide that. Dr. Manoj Patel says that the procedure only lasts for 30 minutes. He utters that proper investigation can unveil the other related conditions that the baby girl is suffering for the last four months.
Latinos Health previously reported another different story about a baby girl who survived after spending four months in the intensive care unit. This time it is different. Hydrocephalus patients suffer from the increasing pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid on the brain.
The bitter fact is the poor parents of the baby girl are trying everything to save their daughter. They are trying to arrange money to treat her. Hope the baby will recover soon and can be able to enjoy the fresh air of life.
