Fans of "Tokyo Ghoul" have waited for a long time for the third Season of the much-loved dark anime and it turns out that they have to wait longer for its Season 3. Viz Media recently announced and then refuted that "Tokyo Ghoul" is slated for release later this year.

Amidst rumors that "Tokyo Ghoul" is expected to be shelved and canceled, a senior director of the dark-themed anime revealed that the third Season is already slated for its return later this year. The same executive implied that a few major surprises are in store for "Tokyo Ghoul" fans.

In an interview with Comic Book, Kevin Hamric, senior director of sales and marketing at Viz Media, said that fans of "Tokyo Ghoul" may have to wait later in 2017 for its Season 3. According to Hamric "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 would be a part of "bigger releases on the anime side."

However, despite the good news, fans of "Tokyo Ghoul" shouldn't get their hopes up as yet since the Season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul" has not been officially announced in Japan. Couple it with the fact that in 2015, the Season 3 of the much-loved dark anime has been teased for release in 2016.

Add this to the fact that the website Opptrends reported that Kevin Harmic may have been misinterpreted during his interview with Comic Book. Viz Media cleared the air by saying that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is still not scheduled.

Viz Media also confirmed that the next installments of other anime such as "My Hero Academia" and "One Punch Man" are nearing their release dates. "My Hero Academia" is set for release in April.

Kevin Harmic also reveals that Netflix will air the "Death Note" movie this summer. That said, the Viz Media's lineup is great for anime fans. Just not such a great news for "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3.
