Stone Brewing in Southern California recently revealed its first ever beer called "Full Circle Pale Ale," which was made uniquely from wastewater. The water was recycled from San Diego's Pure Water project.

Even though it was made from wastewater, San Diego's mayor described the "Full Circle Pale Ale" beer as "fantastic." Other people who already tasted the beer called it "outstanding" and "delicious," Mashable reported.

San Diego's Pure Water project aims in producing 30 million gallons (110 million liters) of reprocessed water per day to the city in 2021. Stone Brewing has the opportunity to make beer out of the recycled water while also contribute in raising knowledge of people to the project.

In fact, the recycled water utilized in making the "Full Circle Pale Ale" beer seemingly has a higher quality as compared to water the brewery usually use. It’s purer, Pat Tiernan; CEO of Stone Brewing insisted. The company’s production of special beer from wastewater is all about sustainability.

"This particular water will just help us not to require so much natural water to come in, and [will] give us a more reliable source. So for us to be able to re-use, that's part of our mantra, that's part of what we do," Tiernan told CW6 San Diego.

The recent remarkable drought in California challenged the Stone Brewing to come across with different water sources, Tiernan noted. The brewery shows off its countless efforts such as obtaining 20 percent of its power source from solar energy at its post in Escondido, California. That company also got its own water recycling system.

Stone Brewing is possibly the biggest craft brewery to utilize wastewater among other users. The "Full Circle Pale Ale" beer has "caramel notes, some tropical fruit notes. It's a very clean tasting beer," Steve GonzalezStone Brewing Senior Manager of Brewing and Innovation said.
