The Masters Tournament is back and all professional golfers are ready to fight for the famous green jacket. According to SB Nation, the tournament started on April 7 but the real competition will begin today, April 8, 2015.

For those who aspire towards the green jacket or just love to golf, listed below are some common golf injuries and how to prevent them.
#1: Back Pain
Back pain in golf is very common, states About Sports. According to the report, back pain may be caused by several factors such as mechanical, disc-related, arthritis-related, or stress fracture. To prevent any back pain or injury, Mayo Clinic recommends adjusting the swing of a player through proper posture.
#2: Golfer's Elbow
About Sports states that Golfer's elbow "is an inflammation, soreness or pain on the inside of the upper arm near the elbow." Mayo Clinic advises to warm up before a game to increase the range of motion in the body. In addition, try strengthening the muscles in the body and focusing on flexibility.
#3: Shoulder Pain
Golfers experience shoulder pain often. About Sports reports that it can be caused by many different conditions like rotator cuff tendinitis or simply instability in the joint. It seems the best course of action to prevent shoulder pain is to strengthen the muscles and work on flexibility, like with the Golfer's elbow.
#4: DeQuervain's Tendinitis
This pain occurs in the wrist at the base of the thumb which would have inflamed tendons in this situation, reports About Sports. The report advises to "avoid excessive cocking of the left wrist at the top of the backswing."
#5: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Another common golf injury that affects the nerves in the hands. It may lead to "hand weakness and clumsiness," reports About Sports. To prevent this injury, try replacing the grips in club handles to larger or softer ones. In addition, lessen the grip pressure placed on the handle.
#6: Knee Pain
This can be caused by a torn meniscus, knee arthritis or maybe kneecap pain, reports About Sports. Mayo Clinic suggests choosing proper footwear to prevent leg-related injures. The report adds that long cleats could strain the knees or ankles.
#7: Wrist Impaction Syndrome
This injury is caused "when the bones of the wrist bang into anothe," reports About Sports. To prevent this injury, try slowing down during a backswing.
#8: ECU Tendon Subluxation
This injury means that the sheath holding the wrist tendon is sliding in and out of place. About Sports cautions against "fat shots" and suggests avoiding rocks, roots, and the like.
