Deciding to run as a way to stay fit is a good start to living healthy. Running can really help increase stamina and burn calories among other things.

Today suggests a couple of suitable and useful products to buy for running. Jennifer Jolly, who is involved in Today's "Run for TODAY," talked about some of the latest running gears - one of which is the trendy tee.

According to Today, trendy tees can keep a runner warm when it is cold and cool when the weather is hot. It also keeps a runner dry and "stink-free" while sweating.

Today recommends trying the Stio Divide Tech Tee for women and the Lululemon's Metal Vent Tech Tee for men. In addition to keeping the runner cool, warm, dry, and stink-free, both tees also have UV sun protection.

Meanwhile, Active advises women to buy a good quality sports bra for running. The site recommends Champion branded sports bras because they offer good support and "minimal chafing."

For runners who plan on going for 10 miles or more, Active suggests buying Body Glide. It helps reduce chafing as well. Vaseline can also be used, reports Active.

Today offers some advice on another running staple: sneakers. The running shoes trending right now are those that offer the best stability and absorb shock by providing additional cushioning for the runner. Today suggests trying shoes like the Hoka One One Clifton Shoes, which have twice the mid-sole material.

Active advises newbie runners to buy new shoes instead of using old ones because it could lead to an injury. When buying new sneakers, visit a local running store and ask for help in choosing the right one, states Active.

Earphones are also discussed in Today. It is important to stay safe while running on a busy street, and ear buds can often block out surrounding noises which could lead to an accident.

Today suggests buying headphones like the Aftershokz, which have bone conduction technology. These headphones allow runners to listen to their music while being able to hear surrounding noises as well.

For after-run comfort, both Active and Today suggest buying a foam roller. Active describes foam rollers as an "f long tube."

It can help massage and stretch muscles after a run, states Active. In addition, it "helps to break up the lactic acid" in muscles. Today recommends the Restore Compact Foam Roller, which is apparently small enough to reach certain muscles in the body.
