Nike's sneaker line for Kobe Bryant will be releasing a new shoe exclusively for kids. According to the official Nike website, the Kobe X "High Dive" will be released on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
The new addition to the Kobe sneaker line will be sold at $135, with sizes ranging for kids between 3.5 and 7 years old. It will be sold on Nike's official website or in select Nike Basketball retailers, reports Sneaker News.
The product number of the sneakers is 726067-100. The official colors of the shoes are white, blue lagoon, total orange and key lime. The shoes have a white seamless textile upper, describes Don't Question Kings.
The report adds that the laces, the Zoom Air sole unit, the heel and the lining all have blue lagoon accents, while the tongue and outsole are covered in total orange. As for the famous Nike Swoosh, it is shaded with an "ombre-like effect of Blue Lagoon-Key Lime," states Don't Question Kings.
Sneaker News states that the color scheme give a summery feel and a poolside theme to the sneakers, further emphasizing the background of the shoe.
According to Sneaker News, the shoe was inspired by Bryant facing his biggest fear. He jumped off a 50-foot-high diving board and overcame his fear. Kicks On Fire states that the sneaker is supposed to remind young athletes to "never let fear get in the way of your game and to always stay brave."
Bryant surely does seem to have the bravery that can inspire kids through the Kobe X "High Dive" GS. Silver Screen and Roll revealed that Bryant wore the purple and gold colors of the Lakers for the past 19 year now.
Even through all the injuries, like sprained ankles, tweaked knees and broken fingers, Bryant played through the games and won. He continued to play even when it seemed that he had lost his touch especially after tearing his Achilles tendon.
Just like the Kobe X for kids, the player himself inspires perseverance and bravery. After tearing his Achilles tendon, Kobe said, "When I take off my shoe and I look down at my scar, I see beauty in it. I see all the hard work, all the sacrifices. I see the journey that it took to get back to this point of being healthy. And I see beauty in that struggle."
