"Vampire Diaries" star, Nina Dobrev, shares her workout routine during a photoshoot for the June issue of Self Magazine.
According to Hollywood Life, Dobrev admits that exercise "has to be fun" for her. She has had lessons in dance and gymnastics, allowing her to execute moves in fun healthy activities like hiking or surfing, reports Healthy Celeb.
To maintain her slim, curvaceous body, Dobrev has four main workout routines: volleyball, yoga, running, and core work. Hollywood Life reports that core work, in particular, is easy to follow and can be done anywhere at any time.
Talking about her core work routine Dobrev says, "I do planks on a balancing ball. Then, keeping my feet on the ball and my arms in plank, I bring my knees in towards my chest. Three sets of 10 and you're shredded. I actually hate it, but I love the results."
Healthy Celeb adds that the 26-year-old actress started working out at the age of nine and is quite an athlete, having been injured and bruised multiple times due to her participation in sports. Volleyball seems to be one particular sport that Dobrev loves and has included in her four main workout routines.
"I've been carrying a [volleyball] around the set with me. We'll bump it around between scenes. The producers of our show even built me a volleyball court near the set because I love it so much," the Vampire Diaries star says.
As for yoga, Healthy Celeb states that Dobrev likes to do sessions of sweaty yoga three to four times a week. The young actress particularly loves Bikram yoga which includes some cardio workouts and stretching. Yoga is also another way for the star to de-stress both her body and mind, adds Healthy Celeb.
"I do [yoga] because of the mind-body thing. It's a lot like dance in that the stretching and elongating feel so good. My favorite position is still lying down, Savasana," Dobrev reveals.
Dobrev also seems to like running. She spoke about her running sessions on the treadmill saying, "I have playlists that I'll put on when I'm on the treadmill."
She says, "Whenever it's the chorus, the exciting part, that's when I'll go on an interval and speed up to 6.5. And then once it's not that part, I'll slow down to, like, 5. When it comes back, I'll get up to 10 or something."
