Celebrity fitness trainer, Jillian Michaels, has opened up about her nose job and 55-pound weight loss when she was 16-years-old. According to the Inquisitr, Michaels admits to being overweight and getting teased for her large nose back when she was a teen, which made her "miserably unhappy."

The former coach on "The Biggest Loser" now says going under the knife for a nose job changed her life. "I had my nose done when I was 16-years-old, and I'll be honest, it did change my life."

The fitness guru said that the surgery boosted her self-esteem, reports People. "Not to say you should let your physicality define you, but there are some things that can make people feel really insecure."

She goes on to say, "So, if there is something you want to fix that allows you to feel a little bit more confident, I support it."

Even though plastic surgery helped 16-year-old Jillian feel more confident, the celebrity trainer maintains that one has to do it for all the right reasons.

"I think that anything in life is about the middle ground. [Becoming addicted to plastic surgery] is dangerous territory. I think it's about [doing it for] the right reasons," the 41-year-old motivational speaker said.

Sticking to her beliefs, the young Jillian did not go under the knife to lose the extra pounds she had as a teen. Jillian struggled with her obesity as a child, but she found a solution in martial arts.

Michaels, who weighed 175 pounds at 16, lost 55 pounds by "overhauling her diet and doing martial arts workouts," reports the Examiner. She claims that the weight loss totally changed her life.

The mother of two has said that her own experience with obesity made her sympathetic with overweight and obese people. "I thank God every day for the exact life that I've had," she says.

"Having been that kid who was bullied had made me identify with the have-nots of the world. I understand what people are going through."

At the age of 41, Jillian has kept the pounds off. Celebrity Health Fitness has learned that one of Michaels' weight loss secrets is working out on the treadmill.

"Forget the elliptical," she advises. "It's a waste of your time. Do incline walking instead. It's way more effective and burns a hell of a lot more calories."

Her other workout secrets are revealed in her fitness video, "Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred."
