Salma Hayek, 48, has revealed her anti-aging secrets to smooth, flawless skin and some tips on maintaining a bombshell body.
According to Celebrity Health Fitness, Hayek, who is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinalt, is not particularly fond of exercise. "Some people have the discipline to exercise in the morning, and I didn't develop that," the Latin beauty told People.
She goes on to say that she does not really have time to workout due to her 16-hour work day, which sometimes extends to 20 hours. In addition, Hayek admits that she rarely goes to the gym and relies on restorative yoga to keep her body in shape.
Fit Day defines restorative yoga as a form of exercise that uses props to help attain physical, mental and emotional relaxation. The props are usually anything that can be found in the house like a pillow, the wall, or a chair.
Hayek says she works with a woman based in London, who taught her restorative yoga. The woman taught Hayek how to hold her body in certain positions to keep her muscles constantly activated.
"So even when you brush your teeth, you're working the muscles," the Latina said. "She taught me to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you're aware of your body, you'd be surprised by the effect it can have."
Other than restorative yoga, Hayek, who has one daughter named Valentina, uses a cream on her face, which is commonly used on burn victims in her country. She says that the cream has an ingredient called Tepezochuite, which helps regenerates cells, reports The Beauty Bean.
She added Tepezocuite to her AM/PM Anti-aging Super Cream. The miracle cream can be found in her new skincare line, Nuance, which is currently available at CVS.
She also uses Nuance Correcting Spot Treatment cream, which treats acne and other blemishes. "If you put it on at night, you have nothing the next day," Hayek said.
She goes on to say, "It has licorice extract, so not only does it help take away the pimple, but it helps lighten the blemish."
Aside from the creams, Hayek follows a simple tip from her grandmother to keep her skin young and beautiful. She told Vogue that it is always important to wash your face every night before going to bed.
The Latina beauty uses chamomile cleanser on her face if she has not worn makeup during the day. To clean makeup off, Hayek says she uses an oil cleanser because "it takes everything off."
