A number of Latin celebrities have reacted to Donald Trump's offensive comments about Latin immigrants.

Recently, in his speech to announce his presidential candidacy, Trump made disparagaing comments, which read, "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Among the celebrities who have expressed their strong opinions against Trump are Cristian dela Fuente, Eugenio Derbez, J Balvin, Roselyn Sanchez, Ricky Martin and Eva Longoria.

Joining the list is "Ugly Betty" star, America Ferrera, who commented in an unexpected fashion - by thanking the real estate mogul instead. Published by the Huffington post, Ferrera wrote in a piece titled, "Thank You, Donald Trump!," that she doesn't want to spend time chastising the mogul but to thank him for having a very effective way of sending more Latino voters to the polls than all the registration rallies combined.

Of Honduran descent, the actress and activist pointed out the Latin population statistics within the American voting public. Ferrera wrote: "No, Mr. Trump, you may not reduce us to drug dealers and rapists. We are moms and dads, sons and daughters. We are valedictorians and honor students. We are college graduates, bankers, police officers, entertainers, teachers, journalists, politicians and we are the future of America." And for her last words, she thanked Trump by saying, "Thank you for helping us in our work to energize the Latino vote and to usher in our shared future! Keep it up!"

On the other hand, CNN reported that Trump made another stir in this verbal controversy through an interview with Don Lemon of CNN Tonight.

Based on the interview, Trump is holding on to his statements and even said that he got his facts from an article on Fusion, which is owned by Univision. The article cited reports from non-profit organizations, which noted that a staggering 80 percent of Central American girls and women crossing Mexico to the United States are "raped along the way."

When Lemon mentioned that the stories are about women being raped and not the people doing the raping, Trump exclaimed, "Well, somebody's doing the raping, Don! I mean somebody's doing it! Who's doing the raping? Who's doing the raping?"

Sitting at number 2 in the latest CNN/ORN National Poll after Bush, the world awaits as to what America Ferrera and all the other Latinos have to say about Trump's latest statement.
