Princess Charlotte was baptized on Sunday, July 5 at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. According to BBC, the Christening was a private gathering of the the royal family's close family and friends, which included the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.
The Duke and Duchess chose five godparents for Princess Charlotte, who were all surprisingly not part of the inner royal circle.
Two of Kate's cousins were chosen to be godparents: Sophie Carter and Adam Middleton. While on Prince William's side, Lady Laura Fellowes, the niece of Princess Diana, was chosen to be a godmother. In addition, two of Prince William's school mates were chosen to be godfathers: Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade.
Over 3,500 people came to see the baby Princess and members of the Royal family arrive at Sandringham for the Christening, which was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, reports Telegraph UK.
"It seems that different forms of ambition are hard wired into almost all of us. At a baptism our ambitions are rightly turned into hopes and prayers for the child, today for Princess Charlotte. Everyone wants something for their children. At our best we seek beauty, not necessarily of form, but of life..." proclaimed the Archbishop during the homily.
