After winning the "Best Sports Game of the Year" award last year for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015, Konami seems to be setting the new standard for soccer games. Multiple sources are predicting that Konami will blow EA Games' FIFA 16 edition out of the water with PES 2016.
Konami has stated that EA's focus on getting licenses rather than realism and natural game play could result in the company losing the award for a second time. According to Full Fifa, a spokesperson from Konami has confirmed that the creators of PES sole focus their attention on gameplay and graphics.
The creators of PES 2016 will be happy to hear that their game has received plenty of positive feedback from gamers who tested it. For one, gamers have commented that the upcoming installment of PES does indeed have better gameplay and graphics.
In terms of playing style, PES 2016 offers more variety than FIFA 16, including Lionel Messi's "No Touch Dribbling" signature style, reports Day Herald.
Gamers will also have a wider range of controls when it comes to their players. In particular, the game allows for a wider range of 1v1 control movement depending on the skill of the player.
Besides handling their players' movements on the field, gamers can now also control player celebrations on the PES 2016, including the popular selfie celebration of Francesco Totti.
Interaction with opponents was also improved in the Konami game, thanks to a new "jostle" feature, states Day Herald.
Konami has also improved the reaction time in the game, allowing for more feint and skill moves with better control. Moreover, the in-game AI has been enhanced, resulting in better defending.
Futhermore, Konami seems to have achieved a new level of realism with PES 2016. The game's upgraded graphics have allowed for certain improved capabilities like players being able to fight for headers in the air.
The ball and the player are described as "two separate entities," in the PES 2016 game by Day Herald. The distinction between the two allows the sports game to more accurately simulate a real game of soccer.
According to Movie Pilot, the PES 2016 will be released on Sept. 15 in the United States. FIFA 16 will be released a week later, reports Day Herald. The game will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. The official trailer for the game can be seen below.
