The latest Bond movie poster may be a sign that the legendary spy franchise is returning to its roots. According to Cinema Blend, the poster was recently released on the official James Bond Twitter account.

Daniel Craig and the new Bond girl, Lea Seydoux, can be seen casually-posed in the poster. Seydoux, from "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," will be playing Madeliene Swann. In the poster, Seydoux looks just like the classy Bond girls of old, dressed in a sleek, light blue gown and red lipstick.
Meanwhile, Craig is dressed in a white tux, holding Bond's weapon of choice: an always-loaded Walther PPK complete with a silencer. Craig's attire is reminiscent of Sean Connery's version of 007 back in the 1960's. The tux is impeccably white and untainted, except for a black rose, which may symbolize death.
The background of the poster also eludes to the theme of death in the film. Behind Craig and Seydoux is the illusion of what seems like a man dressed in a skeleton outfit and wearing a bowler hat.
Cinema Blend notes that the skeleton suit has a strong resemblance to the villian Baron Samedi seen in Roger Moore's Bond flick, "Live and Let Die." In addition, the off-putting bowler hat has a strong likeness to the one worn by Oddjob, the henchman of 007's enemy in "Goldfinger," Auric.
Rolling Out believes that the skeleton suit alludes to one of Mexico's famous holidays: El Dia de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead, which is the Mexican All Saints day. Keeping up with the theme of death, "Spectre" will take place in Mexico City.
Flickering Myth gives a synopsis of "Spectre," which states: "A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE..."
While Bond is in Mexico, the new head of Centre National Security is questioning the importance of Bond and M16. As a result, Bond secretly asks Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him find Madeleine Swann, the daugther of 007's old rival Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), who may have clues to Spectre.
The plot takes a twist as Bond finds out that Spectre has close, surprising ties to his past and that of Christoph Waltz, one 007's enemies.
"Spectre" will premiere in UK theaters on October 23 and November 6 in the Unites States. Sam Mendes directed "Spectre," which happens to be the 24th James Bond film.
