The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus has been unveiled at Apple's latest event. According to Gizmodo, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus series has relatively kept the same external designs as its predecessors.
There are still the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens for the 6s and 6s Plus, respectively. In terms of storage, Apple has still not included and SD card slot. Users will still have to choose between getting a 16 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB iPhone.
There is, however, a new color available for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus: rose gold. In addition, the new phones are heavier and thicker, most likely due to the new A9 processor chip. Apple states that the new processor will allow for faster browsing, a longer battery life and bigger memory, states BuzzFeed.
Thanks to the new processor, Apple was able to include and upgrade some new features into the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. For instance, "Hey Siri" can now work without the iPhone having to be plugged.
Pocket Now explains that on the previous iPhone, "Hey Siri" could only be used while the smartphone was plugged into a socket, partly to conserve the battery. To fix the problem, Apple simply connected the iPhone;s M9 coprocessor with its new A9 SoC.
For those who feel awkward talking to their phones, however, there is the newly installed 3D Touch. Apple's latest haptic technology an upgraded more sensitive version of the Force Touch feature, explains BuzzFeed.
The 3D Touch feature can tell the difference between a light tap, a firm press and a hard jab. It also adds two new interactions, named peek and pop, to the iPhone's other Multi-touch gesture options: swipe, pinch, and tap.
Other improvements in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus can be seen in the camera. A new feature, which Apple calls Live Photos, has been added for photo lovers. This technology will capture 1.5 seconds of video before and after a photo is taken. Live Photos works well with the 3D Touch.
Apple even thought of selfie lovers while working on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The front camera has been upgraded to 5 megapixels. Apple also solved the flash problem by having the phone's screen act a a flash before taking a picture.
Last, but not least, is the 4K video recording feature. This will allow users to capture videos in super-high resolution with million pixels per frame. Plus, users are still able to edit the videos right on their phones.
According to NDTV Gadgets, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will cost $199 and $299, respectively, with two-year contracts. Apple will also be offering a monthly payment plan in retail stores, for the first time. For those who do not want to shell out the complete amount, they can pay $32 or $37 a month, reports BuzzFeed.
