Shakira weight loss & workout secrets: singer dances to rid of post-baby weight

Shakira's hips certainly don't lie about the hard work she has been pouring into getting her pre-baby body back. The 38-year-old Colombian beauty gave birth to her second son, Sasha, in the end of January, E! Online reported.
"The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior,'" Shakira explained via her blog. The singer gave birth via C-section at hospital Quirón-Teknon de Barcelona, where her first son, Milan was also born, Billboard reported.
Shakira's trainer, founder of AKT InMotion Anna Kaiser recently opened up to People about the singer's exercise routine, which not surprisingly, involves dance.
"We do interval training, so it’s a combination of cardio and strength intervals with yoga poses in between," Kaiser explained. "The cardio is dance-based cardio, so it keeps it fun. Shakira’s a dancer, so it’s fun to be able to get back into your groove and be able to use your spirit and your soul while you’re working out. It also helps with getting comfortable with your body again."
Kaiser said that they began working together around two months following Sasha's birth, and that their primary goal was to rebuild the abdominal muscles.
"We needed to start with simple exercises to reconnect her body in a specific way, because training after pregnancy is really different than any other time of your life," said Kaiser. "Your abdominal wall has been compromised, so you really need to strengthen your core in a very specific way."
Self Magazine also reports that Kaiser's other famous clients include Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Ripa. The trainer has also appeared in Shakira's music videos as a dancer and choreographer.
Of course, having a healthy body is imperative for a parent like Shakira, who admitted to E! Online that she wanted to add more to her family. The mother-of-two said: "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard [Piqué]. My own fútbol team."
She added that her partner, FC Barcelona player Gerard Piqué is a hands-on dad. She shared, "He is very involved with his son. He is always there for him, and that's a big advantage for me as I cannot imagine it any other way."
Shakira also gushed about being a mom, saying, "When you have a baby, when you feel his love, you feel so at peace with the world. You just want to share the good news and share how happy you feel."
