AMD Zen release date is expected to be in January 2017. The grapevine says that the CPU family will be called RyZen, which might be a clever take on 'Rise + Zen'. It is believed that AMD Zen CPUss are targeting the market of eight-core, six-core, and quadcore i7 and i5 CPUs by offering convenient pricing and high performance.
The AMD Zen CPU architecture will now be known as Ryzen. The first set of these 'Summit Ridge' desktop CPUs is expected to be ship in Q1 2017. The Ryzen will use AM4 platform which will use an 8-core 16-thread CPU and the base clock for the high-end SKU will be atleast 3.4 GHz.
