The Hubble Space Telescope from NASA has spotted and discovered comets plunging into the young star HD 172555. The star is known as HD 172555 and it resides 95 light years from earth.
Scientists have spotted a star called Gliese 710, which is hurtling towards our solar system at the rate of 32,000 mph. Right now, it is around 64 lightyears away. It is expected to be closest to Earth in 1.35 million years.
NEOWISE mission, a component of NASA's WISE project has detected two celestial objects en route to Earth's orbit. These will be visible in the first few months of 2017. One of these is a comet and the other is as of yet a possible comet without the dust and gas cloud.
A comet that appears every 5 years is expected to cross Earth on New Year Eve. According to reports, there is nothing to fear as it will pass by the Earth without causing any harm to the planet.
