First executive order signed by US President Trump instructs federal agencies to grant financial and regulatory relief to constituencies affected by the Affordable Care Act. It is likely that the Obamacare law might be pulled back. The law requires Americans to get health insurance coverage or pay an annual penalty.
Health insurance giant Cigna has announced that it will not provide coverage for EpiPens anymore. It will now cover only Adrenaclick, the cheaper and generic version of EpiPen, introduced by CVS for just $109. Mylan charges $600 for its epinephrine auto-injector EpiPen.
President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will soon repeal Obamacare and replace it with a new health plan which will cover all Americans and lower the deductibles. However, Republicans have always been advocating to reduce federal spending and regulation. It will be interesting to see what the new ACA replacement have in store for Americans.
Deadline extended for Health Insurance erollment till December 19. The consumers can now sign up for coverage beginning Jan. 1 through ACA marketplaces till Monday night.
