France and Japan have agreed on a Phobos-based probe of the planet Mars. The two countries are expected to start the mission by 2024.
On Nov 10 2016, NASA's Curiosity rover took 3 images of purple colored rocks at the base of Mars' Mount Sharp. The color is owed to the possible presence of iron oxide minerals. The rover is scheduled to climb to higher elevations and study different rock layers for an in-depth analysis.
