The FDA has banned anti-bacterial soaps containing triclosan, triclocarban, and 17 other chemicals from September 2017. Major soap manufacturers are already phasing the use of these chemicals. In the state of Minnesota, soaps with triclosan will be banned from January 1, 2017.
