‘Topless' Yoga Is The Next Best Thing In Fitness: Why Everyone Should Try It

Would you ever do yoga, topless? There is a new fitness craze in town right now and it called "topless" yoga or "free the nipple" yoga. Interesting, isn't?
It should not be that hard to do when you are at home alone, right? However, yoga instructors encourage yogis to practice "topless" yoga along with some other people including the opposite sex.
Yahoo! News reported that the main purpose of this activity is learning to accept who you are. It is about being confident without having to worry how flabby the tummy looks. Having stomach rolls does not necessarily mean an unhealthy body.
Model and blogger Emily Nolan shares her experience on "topless yoga" on her blog, My Kind Of Life. She is the founder of this activity, which the goal is to inspire people to show their body without worrying about being ridicule.
"Everyone takes her shirt off at a different moment," Nolan said. "Whenever you feel you're ready to reveal your true self, when you're feeling empowered and brave, then you take your shirt off."
"Close your eyes and picture a room full of women in all different sizes, sitting in a circle staring at each other and allowing ourselves to just be in our bodies, often for the first time," she added.
Nolan always teams up with another yoga teacher, Kathryn Budig, whenever she teaches a class. Budig, a renowned yoga instructor and author, said that yoga gives anyone the opportunity to relax and release all the negativity from the body.
Accepting all the flaws of your body is the most important thing. The goal of yoga is not to look perfect but to feel perfect.
Meanwhile, a studio in Los Angeles called Astroetic Studios is taking "topless" yoga into a whole different level. They call the activity as "free the nipple" yoga.
Observer Style and Design shared that the concept was inspired by the movement "Free The Nipple", which have garnered support from celebrities and artists in Hollywood.
"I hadn't taken any topless yoga classes prior to launching Free the Nipple Yoga, and in my research, I only found nude yoga classes being offered nearby," explained Danielle Dorsey, the concept creator. "I wanted to create a class that allowed people the freedom to be topless, but that also promoted gender equality and body positivity."
Dorsey admitted that she was hesitant in doing it at first, until she realized it boosts her confidence and took away her insecurities.
