Everybody loves eating a certain kind of food. Yet, people differ in what they want and there are some who experience a craving for a specific food at unexpected times. Amid those people are also food lovers who just wants to avoid junk foods but couldn't.
Regardless of undergoing a diet or not, Well and Good revealed that the published study in Journal of Marketing Research stated that the secret for people to avoid junk food is having themselves serve their own food instead of having others serve them. The study included Reese’s Pieces served for the volunteers on the table. Yet, none picked a piece of their own.
On the other hand, when they were served individual scoops, one-third of the participants took some. Thus, the study then concluded that people “have a greater inclination to consume these snacks when less (versus more) physical involvement is required to help themselves to the food.” But the study then noted that the case doesn’t go the same for healthy snacks.
Boldsky also noted that drinking water and surrounding yourself with healthy snacks would help you also to alleviate eating junk foods. Preventing stress and anxiety also helps in brushing off junk food since it keeps a person relaxed much to not binge eat including junk foods.
With that said, some people even though not going under diet experiences food cravings. Sadly, no resources of their craved food could be found in their fridge. Fortunately, Daily Mail mentioned some things that a person should intake to avoid such unexpected food craving events.
Apple cider vinegar was pointed to be a great substitution since it was found out to reduce blood sugar levels thus prevents sugar cravings. It was then stated by nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert that “Adding vinegar to meals high in carbohydrates can increase feelings of fullness, making people eat 200-275 fewer calories for the rest of the day.”
Other food and drinks advised by Lambert are eggs, dark chocolate, whole grains, chickpeas, oats, mackerel, and yogurt. Some of the choices were made with the reason that adding protein and fiber enriched snacks steadies the body’s sugar levels. Sipping ginger and drinking water were mentioned as well.
