In the process of keeping fit and healthy, one may be missing out on vital nutrients and vitamins. It is really important to plan your diet and check out what you are eating and what you are missing. When it comes to hair, sufficient protein, minerals and vitamins are essential to ensure healthy tresses, according to Dr. Thomy Kouremada-Zioga, hair transplant surgeon at The Private Clinic of Harley Street.
Protein is the number one essential nutrient for hair because hair structure is made of a fibrous protein called keratin. Eggs, fish, lean meat and poultry are all rich resources of protein but for vegans this can be obtained from beans, legumes, nuts and seeds, reports Daily Mail.
In minerals, selenium, magnesium, zinc and copper as well as vitamins A, B, C and E are the right fuel for hair growth. Dr. Zioga warns of going ignorant to these nutrients while maintaining vegan diet. Sufficient minerals, vitamins and above all protein must be carefully added to the diet.
Another factor that plays it role in ruining the hair is sweat. Gym sessions are meant to sweat out fully. This sweat can ruin hair. That is why washing the hair thoroughly is essential after the gym workout. Maybe washing hair frequently is always inked to dry dull hair but when it is sweat, hair must not be left unwashed. For steadily growing hair keeping them clean from all sorts of dirt is important, says the hair expert.
According to WB News using protein shakes can also ruin hair by thinning them or causing them to fall as they may provoke hormonal imbalance in the blood. Working hard over long periods can be damaging as it changes hormone levels and may create a build-up of acid free-radicals in the body
'Working hard and aiming high is great, but, working too hard can, in fact, damage your hair. Lengthy periods of stress have been proven to change your hormone levels, and also create a build-up of acid free-radicals in the body, both of which can cause a loss of hair over time.
