Rodale Inc, the company that publishes Men's Health and Women's Health magazine, has teamed up with Chef'd to create its own brand of meal kits.
According to Adage, Chef'd is an emerging meal delivery kit company. In conjunction with Men's Health magazine, Chef'd has created a set of branded meals which will be delivered to consumers' homes.
The healthy lifestyle media company recently launched the first set of customized meals in honor of Men's Health Week, reports Talking New Media. Five meal recipes were created for the release containing fresh, pre-portioned ingredients.
The meal choices include:
- General Tso's Chicken and Brocooli
- Ancho, Beef, and Bulgur Chili
- Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle Crema, Sauteed Corn & Cherry Tomatoes
- Steak Au Poivre with Roast Potatoes and Green Beans
- Chili-Mango Chicken with Scallion Quinoa
Bill Phillips, editor in chief of Men's Health said: "Our guys are loving our food coverage because it's very simple, it respects their time and most often involves fewer than 10 ingredients. The partnership with Chef'd brings that all together."
Each meal kit was made under the direction of Paul Kita, the Men's Health Food and Nutrition editor, who has won the James Beard Award and is the author of the "Guy Gourmet" blog and cookbook.
The meal kits are not cooked, but rather contain the ingredients to the recipe in an ice-packed box. The meals that feed two people costs $30, while the kits that feed four people costs $50.
To order the meals simply visit www.menshealth.com/chefd. According to Talking New Media, Chef'd will deliver the meal kits within 1-2 days. All orders can be placed as late as 6 p.m. EST from Tuesday to Saturday.
Along with the meal kit, customers will receive a step-by-step recipe card with visuals. In addition, diners will receive the calorie information, spice level, an common allergens in the meal. The kit even suggests the perfect beer or wine pairing for the meal.
Rob Novick, SVP International Business Development & Partnerships for Rodale Inc., says consumers are now more interested in eating healthy and there is a growing demand for meal kit deliveries.
Novick goes on to say: "Helping people lead healthier lifestyles is core to Rodale's mission and this product line is the first of many new and exciting ways we will be bringing our brands to life through smart partnerships."
Rodale Inc. is planning on releasing more meal kits for their other brands this July, including: Women's Health, Prevention, Runner's World, Bicycling and Rodale's Organice Life.
